Cortez

Why is it that dogs just somehow manage to stop time when you're around them? What is it about their just "being" that can make you smile and forget the day's troubles. Sometimes I look at our little Cortezzie and wonder what our lives would have been like without him and I just can't even imagine it. He is just a dog, but really...is he? I swear there's a beautiful soul in there that could make the world a better place if it was just allowed to roam free upon the earth rather than be contained in that little guy.

Just like kids, they grow up fast! I was reminded today of when we first got him at 6 weeks and can't believe how much he has grown. Here's a picture of his first few weeks on this earth. Check out that potbelly!

Of Magicians & Angels

I have been super addicted these last few weeks to making my paper dolls. I just can't get enough. Ideas flow like rivers through my head and I just can't stop myself.
I needed to make more space in my studio so I am starting to list some of them. I have a couple of series going: The Fallen Angel Series (angels who are a bit tortured by their inadequacies or their unfulfilled wishes), The Inept Magician Series (a magician's quest to being a success but somehow always falls a wee bit short). I am now working on a series of flowers that I have been commissioned to do by a very talented Etsy artist that will be using them in her own artwork. Check back in my etsy shop at http://coffeemonkey.etsy.com/ or right here in the near future for additional information about my collaboration with this artist.
Be nice, first and foremost, to yourself.

Ok so I went and did exactly what I told myself I wasn't going to and that is ...forget to post! It only took me a day...yup! I posted on Monday and forgot about it on Tuesday. Story of my life.

Anyways, here I am on Wednesday trying to make up for it and I am at a loss for words (maybe the reason why I don't blog? I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY!!!

I might take the time to pass along some admiration for some of my favorite artists on Etsy until I think of something better to say. I fell upon this first artist on my first day on Etsy. Her work is so beautiful that when I am in a "buying" mode, her shop is the first that I check out. I have already purchased several items from her shop and can't wait to sell more in mine so I can buy some more of hers. Check her out at http://stilettoheights.etsy.com.

Ok, so I've finally come to terms with it. EVERYONE blogs these days so I have finally caved. But I gotta tell you...I'm liking it already! There's something about being able to blah blah blah about yourself without having to worry about someone asking you (politely) to "Shut the F up!"

Well, I guess I will start with what got me here to begin with. I have been an Etsy member selling my art for several months now. You can check me out at http://coffeemonkey.etsy.com or http://natuure.etsy.com . Check out my art and tell me what you think! C'mon...don't be shy!

It's just dawning on me that this blogging thing is going to be pretty cool, but I hope to come up with enough material on a daily basis so as not to bore you to death. Anyways, I leave you with this one thought today:

If buttered toast always lands buttered side down and a cat always lands on its four paws, what would happen if you tied a piece of buttered toast buttered side up to a cat's back? hmmmm?

Think about it! Til next time!
